#23 of 50 "Blue Note"

"Blue Note", Watercolor & Acrylic, 500# Paper, 5"x 5" SOLD
"Blue Note" I did this somewhere early in the 20 years that I've been painting music. Back then I think I titled it "I Write The Songs". I can't say that I've ever been a big fan of Barry Manilow but it was a song that did inspire this design. Back then the pen was more like a fountain pen with a pointed nib. Now it represents one of my favorite pens; a Sharpie. I love a spiraled sketchbook so that my Sharpie rides within the coiled wire. Sketchbooks are very personal; they are visual diaries or journals of everyday life, travel and miscellaneous ideas. I have some sketchbooks that are just dedicated to Hawaii, Alaska, Yosemite and New York.
