Save The Date: Saturday, March 24

You're Invited!  Save The Date: Saturday, March 24
Save The Date! I'm pleased to announce that the show is set with an "Artist Reception" on Saturday, March 24 from 2-5pm. It will be located at the Hudson Street Wineries which is a Tasting Room for 5 Boutique Wineries. Check out their website: hudsonstreetwineries.com. It is the perfect place for my reception and I'm so excited to think of all 50 paintings being up on the wall at the same time. Now I just need to paint the next 20 pieces. I will; remember I'm better under a deadline. Please save the date. It will be great to see you. There's always lots to do in Wine Country! Cheers!

Top 10 Realizations

Valentine Roses from My Valentine, February 20, 2012
I heard that California has been hit the hardest with the flu bug this month. I just can't believe that it got me. I was on such a roll with this challenge and then I'm stopped in my tracks. Top 10 Realizations While I Had The Flu:
1. Life Happens & Time Ticks On.
2. Deadlines Can Be Altered.
3. Energy is Everything!
4. This is how Resolutions get derailed.
5. Commitment = Focus
6. Mom's right: "There's Only One You"
7. Perfect time to brush my Persian.
8. My Blog allows me to have a Voice.
9. Turn Worries into Positive Thoughts.
10. Can't wait to post the next painting!
Even though I missed Valentine's Day, my cowboy made it special with a dozen red roses.

The Whole Idea

What? Paint 50 paintings before I turn 50? How much time do I have? I love to paint but never seem to be able to make enough time to do it. What better way to create a new "habit" than to exercise my strengths on a daily basis. My old graphic design/printshop days were all about making newspaper and yearbook deadlines. Throughout college and into life, goals have made me feel alive, driven and passionate. I've done a lot for other priorities in my life. Now is the time to do something for me.
The Whole Idea is to take time for myself to do what I love - PAINT. What a great GOAL! It hit me last Fall - "I'm going to be 50". Not that age really matters to me; in many ways I feel like I finally have a fresh start. This year marks 20 years that I've been creating a musically themed painting series. I've always visualized these to be more colorful, bolder and expressionistic so that you can really feel the music. In these small 5"x5" gems, I hope to accomplish that. The Other Goal is to show all 50 of them at a venue where they will all be available for sale at that time. What an Art Reception / Birthday Party that will be!
